Religious Elites in the Development Arena

Sten Hagberg
This article is a translation of:
Les élites religieuses dans l’arène du développement [fr]

Full text

1The current issue of APAD-Bulletin concerns the ambiguous relationship between religion and development, particularly Christian and Muslim organisations involved in development policy and practice in different West African countries. Faith-based organisations present interesting challenges to received wisdom and the different contributions highlight the new visibility of religion in development arenas.

2This issue of the APAD-Bulletin is the first being produced at the Department of Cultural Anthropology & Ethnology, Uppsala University. We welcome proposals of special issues, as well as individual papers, to be published in our journal. The current issue emphasises the bilingual dimension of APAD: two papers in English and two papers in French with full versions of the introduction in both languages!
